Remember – There is a very limited amount of time within which to present A LOT of information. Be detailed in this outline. For example, don’t just tell me you are the primary caregiver, tell me how. Give me dates, times, specific examples. Don’t tell me they are mean to you and the kids, tell me how. What do they say, what do they do. You are responsible for providing me the facts that support your case.
I cannot do it without you providing the information. Also, tell me HOW IT AFFECTED THE KIDS!!!! I cannot stress how important it is that you tell me how your children were affected by the other party’s actions, and your own as well. This is not a time to make yourself look like a saint. I want to know everything.
Provide me documentation: School records, medical records, homework sign sheets, etc...
In addition to this outline, you will need to prepare a timeline of your relationship. From the time you were married until the present time.
Finally, KEEP A JOURNAL. You will need to constantly update your outlines to provide me for any court hearings or mediations.
